In 1993 I watched Free Willy and fell in love with orcas. Today I work with the use of genetics/genomics for the conservation of cetaceans, dolphins and whales.
I graduated in 2011 with a degree in Biological Sciences specializing in Marine Biology from the São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" – UNESP, at the coastal campus of São Paulo.
In 2015 I completed my master's degree in Tropical Biodiversity at the Federal University of Espírito Santo – UFES, on the north campus.
In 2022 I completed my PhD in Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2023 I did a postdoc at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research at the Berlin Center for Genomics in Biodiversity Research.
In 2025, I will begin my postdoctoral studies at the State University of Campinas with a project focused on the use of genomics for the conservation of Franciscana dolphins ( Pontoporia blainvillei ).
